What are you doing this summer? This summer, I interned with Ernst & Young (EY) in their Audit practice, working with a global broker-dealer in the Banking and Capital Markets sector. I helped with audit planning, participated in client meetings, and supported my team using tools like EY Canvas and JIRA. It was an incredible learning experience that gave me a real look into the fast-paced world of audit and the importance of teamwork.

Hopefully you’ve grown both professionally and personally from this summer experience. Name one or two “life” lessons you learned and will carry forward after graduation.  One thing I learned this summer is how valuable it is to reach out to your team - not just for help, but to build real connections. Asking questions opened the door to meaningful conversations, and I found that the people at EY were excited and open to sharing what they knew. It made the experience way more collaborative and welcoming.

What has been the most memorable part of your experience? One of the most memorable parts of my summer was getting to share meals with the team. Even though it didn't happen every day, those moments gave me the chance to connect on a more personal level and feel like part of the group. It reminded me that the people you work with can make all the difference.

What advice would you give to younger students who are searching for summer opportunities? Don't be afraid to put yourself out there - apply to roles even if you don't feel 100% qualified, and don't underestimate the power of a thoughtful message on LinkedIn. Focus on building genuine connections and asking good questions. People remember effort and authenticity more than a perfect resume.
