What are you doing this summer? This summer, I interned with RBC Capital Markets in their Financial Institutions Group in New York. I had the opportunity to work on multiple buy-side M&A deals, which I supported through their bidding and due diligence processes.
Hopefully you’ve grown both professionally and personally from this summer experience. Name one or two “life” lessons you learned and will carry forward after graduation. I learned that my best growth comes from taking on projects outside of my comfort zone, while being surrounded by a supportive team. By pushing myself to do new things, I absorbed so much through osmosis and by holding myself to their standards.
What has been the most memorable part of your experience? Late-night boba deliveries and froyo runs with my coworkers! We often started off work nights with a sweet treat, which helped us focus and stay motivated us throughout the night.
What advice would you give to younger students who are searching for summer opportunities? Apply to everything, even if you're not sure you want to do it or if you're qualified enough. You learn so much by going through the interview process and chatting with your interviewers. It's a great way to explore and keep your options open.
