What are you doing this summer? This summer, I spent six weeks as a consulting intern for EY, gaining hands-on experience and collaborating on real client projects. Through this experience I built valuable soft and technical skills, strengthened relationships from last summer, and got a closer looks into the consulting world.

Hopefully you’ve grown both professionally and personally from this summer experience. Name one or two “life” lessons you learned and will carry forward after graduation.  Something I learned was the difference between a "wrong" and "right" question. A right question is specific, advances your work, and there has been an effort to solve it first. A wrong question is too vague, or is something you could easily find yourself with little effort.

What has been the most memorable part of your experience? The most memorable part of my internship was the Giants game all the interns attended. We had the opportunity to meet people from other types of consulting, service lines, and offices around the bay. We also won the game from a walk-off home run!

What advice would you give to younger students who are searching for summer opportunities?
You'll learn the most by trying new things and failing. Don't be afraid to lean in and ask for more projects, even if you're unfamiliar with the work.
