What are you doing this summer? This summer, I interned as a Tax Consultant at Deloitte, where I had the opportunity to rotate through different roles, including Business Tax Services and International Tax. I worked on multiple engagements across various areas, including Private Equity, Industry (AI+Tech) Compliance, Federal Partnerships, and State Tax Policy, gaining a broad perspective of the tax practice.

Hopefully you’ve grown both professionally and personally from this summer experience. Name one or two “life” lessons you learned and will carry forward after graduation. One important lesson I learned is that it’s okay not to know everything right away; asking questions is a strength, not a weakness. I also realized that being open and curious not only helps me learn faster but also builds stronger connections with mentors and teammates, which I’ll carry with me beyond graduation.

What has been the most memorable part of your experience? The most memorable part of my summer was flying out to Texas for Deloitte University, where I got to connect with other Tax Interns around the country through fun activities and networking. The experience and food was unforgettable.

What advice would you give to younger students who are searching for summer opportunities? When searching for internship opportunities, be your authentic self and let your genuine interests show through your applications and interviews. Approach recruiters with energy and enthusiasm, and don’t forget to follow up to build lasting connections. Consistency and curiosity go a long way in standing out!
