What are you doing this summer? The summer at Intel, my work included researching employee inquiries on compliance topics such as conflicts of interest, antitrust, and AI safety, preparing compliance reports and interactive Power BI dashboards, and contributing to the development of an AI-powered policy chatbot to improve employee access to resources. In this time, I have gained practical insight into how legal and ethical standards are applied on a global scale.

Hopefully you’ve grown both professionally and personally from this summer experience. Name one or two “life” lessons you learned and will carry forward after graduation. I've learned the importance of asking questions early and often. This demonstrates interest and curiosity, and offers greater context into the work you are completing. I’ve also learned that clarity and consistency are critical, as the presentation of work determines how useful it can be for others.

What has been the most memorable part of your experience? The most memorable part of my internship was working on the development of the AI-powered policy chatbot. It was so exciting to see how my work will impact how employees across the world will engage with company policies.

What advice would you give to younger students who are searching for summer opportunities? My advice to younger students is to stay open-minded and apply to opportunities that may not seem like a “perfect fit” at first glance, as you might find that you love the work in an unexpected area. I’d also recommend reaching out to alumni and mentors as much as possible for guidance, as many opportunities are unlisted.
