What are you doing this summer? I facilitated the recruiting process for Omni Hotels and Resorts property's hourly roles through conducting extensive phone screen interviews, reviewing resumes, and scheduling meetings with hiring managers. Additionally, I sent out onboarding documents, prepared offer letters, and sent out background checks to qualified candidates. Lastly, I managed a collaborative project with a fellow intern and my manager, moving data and job assignments into a new system.
Hopefully you’ve grown both professionally and personally from this summer experience. Name one or two “life” lessons you learned and will carry forward after graduation. Never be afraid to speak up, even as an intern, your opinions matter!
What has been the most memorable part of your experience? The most memorable part of my summer was getting praise from the Chief Human Resources Officer at Omni, Joy Rothschild. She applauded myself and the other intern for our hard work and awarded us "Recruiting Rockstars" of the week.
What advice would you give to younger students who are searching for summer opportunities?
Use your connections to your advantage and be open to all industries and don't be afraid to ask questions. People want to help your career grow and asking the right questions will enable them to help you!
