Career Startup Leadership Recap
This year the Undergraduate Programs Professional Development team launched workshops to help first and second year students with their career search strategies. As a part of these efforts we held the 1st Annual LSB Career Startup Conference. The event featured a personal branding expert and professionals from organizations including Intuitive Surgical, EY, and Vectra AI. In addition to networking with professionals and experts, the event provided participants the ability to build tangible career skills such as an improved LinkedIn profile and interview practice. With great feedback about this first conference, we look forward to curating similar events in the future!
Here are a number of testimonials from students who attended the event:
“The [personal branding] workshop was something completely new and something I had never thought about before!”
~First Year Attendee
“The professionals provided us with their valuable experience and we were able to discuss our plans and see how they compare and perhaps listen to what tips they have for our career growth!”
~Sophomore Attendee
“The interview workshop and lunch with professionals proved very helpful in preparing for an internship interview I had the following day. I felt far more confident in being prepared for typical questions and phrasing my answers in a manner that made the interviewing team see me as a potential asset for their organization!”
~Sophomore Attendee
