New for LSB Students: Employer Coffee Chats

LSB and the Career Center have teamed up to connect students with top companies in informal informational sessions.

“Employers and students are seeking new and more informal ways to connect. Coffee chats provide a way for students to speak with employers in a less formal setting, learn more about the organization, and build relationships with the representatives," - Moira Kolasinski, associate director of employer relations and experiential learning at SCU's Career Center.

The Career Center and the Leavey School of Business are proud to present their new collaborative effort: Employer Coffee Chats. Aimed at connecting undergraduate business students with top companies, the sessions will give students the chance to sit down with recruiters. Attendees can expect to learn more about each organization, connect with employees, ask questions, and learn about opportunities for them.

The companies in attendance include:

Lockheed Martin - 10/10
Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services.

Enterprise Holdings - 10/17
Enterprise Holdings and its affiliates offer extensive car rental, car sharing, truck rental, fleet management, retail car sales, and other transportation services.

Cornerstone Research - 10/24
Cornerstone Research is a consulting firm specializing in the analysis of complex financial, economic, accounting, and marketing issues.

Undergraduates can drop in anytime during 11am-1pm at Lucas 125 on each date. RSVP via Handshake. Each company is looking to fill both internships and full time positions. Furthermore, all business majors are encouraged to apply.

students talking to recruiter

In the most recent session with Comerica Bank, sophomore Dina Zheng gave her thoughts on the meeting: “Reatrey, the recruiter, was incredibly personable and honest.  She gave me lots of fantastic advice and introduced me to great programs inside and out of Comerica. She seemed very interested in my success regardless if I joined Comerica and gave me valuable tips and insight on my career in general, far more than any chat I’ve had with recruiters in the past. I am definitely interested in attending more Coffee Chats.”
