Center for Accounting Research and Education (CARE)
Center for Accounting Research and Education (CARE) – offers the organization and management of undergraduate accounting information events, career fairs, award ceremonies, fundraising for accounting scholarships and research, and managing interactions between students and professional firms. The center also coordinates with the Silicon Valley Executive Center (SVEC) to offer the Certificate of Accounting Proficiency (CAAP) program.
Santa Clara University Accounting Association (SCUAA) - is a student organization run by ten junior/senior officers that helps students with professional development. Once a student declares Accounting/Accounting and Information Systems (AIS) as a major, they are automatically a member of the Accounting Association. Bridging the gap between the student body and various accounting employers, we have held several events including CPA Workshops, Mock Interviews, and our annual accounting career fair, Meet the Firms (MTF), to provide students with opportunities to connect with professionals. We also work closely with the Accounting Department to host events such as Accounting Information Night, Sophomore Accounting/AIS Career Fair, and the Accounting Awards Banquet. If you have questions about SCUAA events or want to learn more about our officers and organization in general, please email us at scuaa@scu.edu or visit the Accounting Association page on the Accounting Department website.
CARE will be hosting the following events this year to provide information and guidance to students with Accounting and Accounting and Information Systems majors:
Wednesday, September 30, 2020 – Career Fair Fall Bash, coordinated by SCUAA
Due to COVID concerns, this year's Meet the Firms Night will be merged with the virtual SCU Career Center's Career Fair Fall BASH. This virtual event will take place on September 30, 2020 from noon to 4:00 PM using the Handshake Virtual Career Fair platform. The event will include both large group information sessions and 10-minute 1:1 sessions. Students may register through Handshake. The SCU Accounting Association will be sending additional details regarding this event in upcoming weeks. Accounting/A&IS students should confirm application deadlines for the firms they are interested in since some deadlines may be before the September 30 career fair.
