2019-20

Center for Accounting Research and Education (CARE) – offers the organization and management of undergraduate accounting information events, career fairs, award ceremonies, fundraising for accounting scholarships and research, and managing interactions between students and professional firms.  The center also coordinates with the Silicon Valley Executive Center (SVEC) to offer the Certificate of Accounting Proficiency (CAAP) program. 

CARE will be hosting the following events this year to provide information and guidance to students with Accounting and Accounting and Information Systems majors:

Thursday, September 26, 2019 – Meet the Firms Career Fair, hosted by SCUAA
September – November 2019 –Table Talks in Lucas Hall lobby (see schedule below)
Monday, November 4, 2019 – Building a Corporate Career Panel Discussion
Thursday, January 30, 2020 – Accounting Information Night
Thursday, February 13, 2020 – Sophomore Accounting Career Fair
Spring 2020 – Accounting Department Scholarship applications open
Thursday, May 21, 2020 – Accounting Awards Banquet
Friday, June 5, 2020 – Accounting Senior BBQ

Lucas Hall Table Talks

The Center for Accounting Education and Practice (CARE) is supporting the LSB tabling pilot program by hosting the Lucas Hall Table Talks during fall quarter 2019.  Table Talks provide an opportunity for students to converse with firms in the relaxed environment of the Lucas Hall lobby. We encourage students at all levels and majors to meet and talk with the companies that appear on campus. The following firms have Table Talk reservations this fall quarter. We will inform students through this newsletter and the LSB monitors when additional companies are added to the schedule.
