Ciocca Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Update for 2020-2021
Ciocca Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is an interdisciplinary hub, enhancing current and future opportunities to experience, research, collaborate around, and advance innovation and entrepreneurship campuswide. The Center fills the strong desire of entrepreneurial students at our Silicon Valley-based campus and helps prepare them for entrepreneurial leadership by providing opportunities for interdisciplinary and experiential learning and facilitating engagement with Silicon Valley and beyond.
This year, Ciocca Center will be offering and supporting a variety of events for students, such as an Entrepreneurial Speaker Forum, a Global Venture Capital Investment Competition, our annual Business Pitch Competition, and a Maker Lab Competition. We also plan to have our first EntrePalooza, an exciting and interactive campuswide celebration of innovation.
The Bronco Venture Accelerator (BVA) is also part of Ciocca Center’s campuswide offerings and runs programs throughout the year. This fall will be the inaugural launch of Idea School, providing students a forum where they can learn the steps involved to take an idea from a concept to a business. Prep School is a winter quarter program providing student founders the tools and education required to apply to an accelerator. The entire SCU community has an opportunity to apply for SCU’s own accelerator, BVA, which runs over summer and through fall. BVA will culminate with a virtual Demo Day in October, when the startups pitch their companies to investors and VCs.
