Retail Management Institute Update for 2019-2020 Academic Year
Retail Management Institute (RMI) - RMI’s Retail Studies Minor is both a curriculum and experience-based program. The curriculum offers strong business theory in the classroom through a diverse set of core requirements covering marketing, economics, data analytics, consumer behavior, technology and information systems.
RMI actively pursues opportunities for access to the best real-world experiences here locally in Silicon Valley, with retailer field experiences in the San Francisco Bay Area and conferences in New York and Las Vegas. All experiences are developed to give a holistic view of the retail industry and its many career opportunities in many diverse fields including buying & merchandising, e-Commerce, planning, store management, global sourcing, supply chain, finance and information technology. The Retail Studies minor is open to all undergraduates.
For RMI students - Fall kicks off with a corporate field trip to SF-based retailer Williams-Sonoma on October 22nd.
Seniors - Class of 2020 will engage with Industry Guest Speakers in Marketing 168 including Merchandising directors from Gap, Inc., Lisa Bougie, industry consultant formerly CMO of StitchFix, Terri Daniels, Sr. DMM Home Textiles & Director of Trend & Design at Cost Plus World Market and Nordstrom Chief Merch.
