The label "first-generation" can have many stereotypes associated with it. Many of these stereotypes are rooted in historical marginalization and oppression. In honor of National First-Generation Day, the Office for Multicultural Learning in collaboration with the LEAD Scholars Program, will be discussing the importance of shifting the ways in which we view first-generation students.

 

We will also be discussing generational differences and how that impacts the ability to claim such an identity. This event is open to the entire SCU community: students, staff, faculty, administration, and alumni.
