Hobbies/Interests: When I'm not working, I love to have fun and relax just like anyone else. Swimming is one of my favorite things to do. It's so peaceful to be in the water. And who doesn't love Disneyland? Every time I go, it's like being in a whole new world of fun and smiles.I also really enjoy being outdoors, especially going for hikes. It's great to walk in nature and just breathe in the fresh air. Plus, I like playing games like table tennis and pickleball with friends. It's a fun way to hang out and have a good laugh (I'm competitive though). It's these simple things that make life special and keep me feeling happy and refreshed.
Biography: Before joining Santa Clara University, I explored the realms of management sciences as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Waterloo. With a foundation in Civil and Environmental Engineering (B.S.) and Engineering Management (M.S.) from the American University of Beirut, I furthered my journey at Virginia Tech, earning a Ph.D. in Operations Research. My passion for solving complex problems drives my research in stochastic modeling, optimization, game theory, and data analytics. I'm particularly drawn to their powerful applications in healthcare, public health, and emergency management. My contributions have been recognized in top-tier journals and esteemed awards, including the 2022 IISE Pritsker Doctoral Dissertation Award and notable accolades from INFORMS for my impactful research. At Virginia Tech, I was celebrated not only for my research insights but also for my dedication to education, earning the Outstanding Ph.D. Student and Teaching Assistant Awards. I'm excited to bring this blend of expertise and enthusiasm to the ISA community at Santa Clara University.
