I integrate art and activism through animation and documentary. I tell stories rooted in my Malaysian Chinese heritage and my American upbringing to explore immigration, identity, racism, globalism, and climate change. My work blends cultural specificity, strong concepts, and technical experimentation –animating with carbon particles in "Carbon Traces," batik-inspired collage in "Joss Lotuses to Grandma," and motion capture with painterly environments in "Manufactured Landscapes." I choose each medium intentionally to amplify emotional impact and expand what animation can say about our social, political, and ecological landscapes. Through these practices, I aim to spark reflection, broaden cultural conversations, and empower underrepresented voices to tell their own stories.
