Carrington Kicks Off the CAH Spring Faculty Fellows Series
Ryan Carrington will be sharing his work in progress as he prepares for his upcoming solo exhibition, Contradictions, at the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles, which runs July 18 - October 3.
A flag created by Ryan Carrington from the discarded uniforms of blue- and white- collar workers. His work utilizes symbols of Americana to bridge issues of labor, class, work ethic, and economics with his personal and family history. His current research investigates the rich conceptual story that pre-worn garments have to share by using uniforms of blue- and white-collar workers to create American flags and iconic gingham plaid patterns.
Hosted by the Center for the Arts & Humanities, this event is part of the Center’s Spring Fellows Series.
