As a freelance journalist and author, Barbara Kelley brings her professional expertise directly into the classroom. Her work has appeared in a number of regional and national publications, including the Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, the Sunday magazines of the San Jose Mercury News and San Francisco Examiner and Chronicle, Health Magazine, Parenting, Redbook, Utne Reader, Salon.com, and the Huffington Post. Most recently, her reporting has focused on women’s issues, which have also been the topic of numerous local and national speeches.  She is the co-author (with her daughter, Shannon) of Undecided: How to Ditch the Endless Quest for Perfect and Find the Career – and Life – That’s Right For You (Seal Press: 2011) as well as the blog, Undecided, which covers a wide variety of topics specifically related to women.  She also writes j.linx, a blog on the future of journalism.
