Getting Creative Amidst COVID
Tricia Creason-Valencia (Communication) encouraged students to explore their creativity while at home as part of her Introduction to Digital Filmmaking course

Amidst a global pandemic and the switch to remote learning this past spring, Tricia Creason-Valencia (Communication) had to meet the students where they were at – Home. As part of an assignment for her Introduction to Digital Filmmaking course, she asked her students to recreate classical art using objects they had readily available.
The project was sparked by a challenge from the Getty Museum in Los Angeles and the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. "I advised them to pay attention to color, textures, composition and directing their actors," says Creason-Valencia. "Their submissions were amazing and funny and often involved parents and siblings and pets. It seems like it brought joy and creative energy into their lives."
