Carolyn Trist is an Environmental Geographer and Political Ecologist. Her research has focused on environmental change and conservation politics, particularly in coastal and island environments. She has worked in the Eastern Caribbean on how historical, political-economic, and geopolitical factors intersect and influence resource conflicts and conservation practices. She is also fascinated by territorial disputes and the (dis)connection between borders and landscapes around the world.
