During the second week of Fall quarter 2018, Professor Frank Farris traveled to Sewanee, the University of the South, to deliver their Annual Sherwood Ebey Lecture. In residence for a full week, Farris presented an exhibition of his mathematical art and gave two lectures, one for mathematicians and one for a general audience. The title of his Ebey Lecture was “Creating Symmetry: Making Art with Waves.” His visit was hosted by SCU alumna Catherine Cavagnaro, now Professor of Mathematics at Sewanee.
