Political Science Majors Accepted by Prestigious Oxford Program
Cassidy Block ‘23 and Sarah Danon ’23 will be representing Santa Clara University (SCU) as visiting scholars at Oxford University’s Mansfield College during the 2021-2022 school year. The Oxford Scholarship is awarded annually through SCU’s University Honors Program. Cassidy and Sarah, along with a cohort of 30 visiting scholars from around the world, will spend their junior year immersed in concentrated study in their area(s) of interest.

Philosophy minor
Cassidy will be studying political science, literature, and philosophy to explore connections across these disciplines that will deepen her understanding of contemporary governance challenges. As a political science major, Cassidy hopes this experience will enhance her knowledge of critical concepts and also prepare her for law school.
Sarah Danon ‘23
Political Science and Environmental Studies
Economics Minor
Sarah will be studying the intersection between economic, political, and environmental interests in hopes of exploring how political and economic systems can better address environmental degradation and the climate crisis. Sarah hopes to study environmental law after graduating from SCU and to pursue a career in international environmental policy.
