The following week she was panelist for the Muslims and Christians: Knowing Ourselves by Knowing the Other conference, at San Damiano Retreat Center in Danville.  On February 6, she preached on Psalm 139, “And my being deeply knows it,” at Epworth Methodist Church in Berkeley. Her article “Saint Clare of Assisi:  “May You Go Forward Securely,” was published in The Journal of World Christianity, Volume 7, Number 1, 2017. Jean’s chapter, “The Chancery,” will be published in the forthcoming Unruly Catholic Women (SUNY, October, 2017) and her sidebar on Lamentations 5:14 is included in A Feminist Study of the Book of Lamentations, Ed. Gina Hens-Piazza (Liturgical Press, 2018).  All year, she has worked closely with SCU senior, Thomas Deal, as advisor for his Honor’s Thesis: Pentecostalism in the San Jose Hispanic Immigrant Community. Jean continues to work on her two book projects.
