Our faculty member Jean Molesky-Poz authored the essay “Saint Clare of Assisi: “May You Go Forward Securely,” published in the recent issue of The Journal of World Christianity (eds. Mary Fulkerson and Elaine Padilla). Jean asks how Saint Clare and the early San Damiano community in Assisi, 1212-53, might cast light on our times when our concerns of inter-religious dialogue and collegiality are at risk and the urgent task of restoring the fragmented church is so great. The article is a developed version of her keynote, delivered for the Ecclesiological Investigations international and ecumenical conference, “Where We Dwell in Common: Pathways for Dialogue in the 21st Century” at the Basilica of Santa Chiara, Assisi, in April 2012.
