Thao Nguyen, SJ: New Articles and a Talk in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Thao Nguyen, S.J. finished three articles during his Junior Faculty Development Leave last Fall. Two articles will be published in edited volumes in Fall 2018: “Examination of Consciousness for Transformation: Ignatian Examen and Vietnamese Zen Buddhist Repentant Rituals” in Elizabeth Harris, ed. Meditation in Buddhist-Christian Encounter: A Critical Analysis (European Network of Buddhist Christian Studies), and “A Vibrant Church: Roman Catholicism in Vietnam” in Erin Brigham, ed. Catholic Identity (USF: Lane Center for Catholic Studies and Social Thought). Fr. Nguyen’s third article, “Resistance, Negotiation, and Dialogue: Roman Catholic Church in PostColonial Vietnam” will come out in the journal of Studies in World Christianity published by Edinburgh University Press.

Last November, Fr. Nguyen gave a talk on “Asian Catholic Women’s Movements” to a group of doctoral students at Payap University in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
