Allan Coulson is a seasoned technology and operations executive with more than two decades of leadership experience at Apple, where he currently serves as Senior Director of Service Engineering, Technology, and Repair Operations. In this role, he leads a global organization responsible for the serviceability, diagnostics, and repair strategy across Apple’s hardware portfolio, overseeing worldwide repair center operations and advanced engineering capabilities that support hundreds of millions of devices.
Under his leadership, innovative diagnostic and service strategies have delivered several billion dollars in operational savings, while maintaining Apple’s high standards for quality and customer experience. Throughout his career, Allan has been recognized for his ability to operate at scale, align engineering and business priorities, and build high-performing global teams that bridge product engineering and post-sales support.
Prior to Apple, Allan held executive leadership roles at Blue Coat Systems and Cobalt Networks, where he led manufacturing, test engineering, quality, and program management organizations. Across these roles, he developed deep expertise in optimizing complex global supply chains, mitigating fraud, and implementing rigorous quality assurance frameworks that improved product reliability and customer satisfaction in both enterprise and consumer markets.
Allan holds a Bachelor of Science from the United States Naval Academy and an MBA from Santa Clara University. He is a graduate of the Santa Clara University Board Leadership Academy and has completed multiple executive-level certifications in Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI strategy through MIT Sloan, IBM, and Vanderbilt. He brings to boards and executive teams a rare combination of disciplined operational leadership, strategic financial acumen, and a forward-looking perspective on the responsible integration of emerging technologies in support of business strategy.
