Idea Lab
The Bronco Ventures Idea Lab is an interdisciplinary program that exposes the attendees to the core concepts of design thinking. Our goal is to help you create a team and a viable, feasible, and desirable business idea that you could continue to work on beyond Idea Lab and turn into your startup. This Fall quarter, Idea Lab will offer a workshop on Saturday, November 4, 10am - 3:00pm, at SCU. The workshop will provide you with the tools and techniques to empathize with the customers, deeply understand their pain points, generate human-centered solutions, and test the feasibility of potential solutions. Idea Lab is fun and informative and open to everyone in the Santa Clara University community, including graduate and undergraduate students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Upon completion of the program, attendees will receive a digital certificate of completion and have the option of applying to Bronco Ventures Accelerator Prep School, where we will help you further grow your business. The workshop is free and lunch will be provided.
Each module meets for a 4 - 6 hour Saturday workshop. The ideation module is offered during the Fall and Winter quarters, and the pitching module is offered during the Spring quarter. Participants will have to spend around 30 - 60 minutes prior to the workshop to prepare for the workshop.
No, Idea Lab is completely free.
The ideation module will help the participants design a business idea, which they can use to apply to the Bronco Ventures' more advanced Prep School and further develop their ideas into start-ups with the help of the Bronco Ventures network. Beyond Prep School, participants can then apply to the Bronco Venture Accelerator, where they will have the opportunity to receive funding for their start-up.
While Idea Lab is designed for first-time founders and very early-stage businesses, later-stage businesses are welcome to attend as well. The principles and sessions are valuable for any founder.
