Riana Santos
Lab Technician

Riana Santos is an Imaginarium lab technician majoring in Computer Science & Engineering (COEN). She actively contributes to the Game Studies research group under the SCU Media Lab, currently playing a pivotal role in exploring the internet phenomenon known as “Sludge Content”. Her previous contributions include co-authoring an academic paper that delves into the social media presence of the game Genshin Impact and its fandom’s relationship with perceived toxicity.

Her journey to the Imaginarium began through friends already involved in the lab and with Professor Jeong, first joining the community through Game Studies and being greeted with an immediate introductory question, "Who do you simp for?" Since then, she has become an integral part of the Imaginarium, excited by the space to delve into unique, fun topics under a more academic lens. Riana also works eagerly to expand her technical skills, particularly in the domains of VR and Unity development. Yet Riana's passion for the Imaginarium goes beyond her technical pursuits, finding excitement in meeting all the members of the lab and learning about each of their own interests and projects. Inspired by their dedication to their work, she aspires to match their eagerness.
