Amber Xiaoyan Liu

Assistant Professor, Information Systems & Analytics

Dr. Liu is an assistant professor in the department of Information Systems & Analytics (ISA) at the Leavey School of Business.

Her research focuses on the design and operations of online marketplaces, innovative business models, and the operations-finance interface. She develops and applies data-driven approaches, including statistical learning and machine learning, to facilitate and inform business decisions for digital platforms. She has a special research interest in designing recommendation systems for online B2B platforms through leveraging predictive analytics and field experiments. Her work has been selected as a finalist of INFORMS 2021 Innovative Applications in Analytics Award. Dr. Liu’s research also spans other methodologies including game theory and economic modeling. Her research has been accepted at top journals such as Management Science.

Dr. Liu received her Ph.D. in Operations, Technology, and Information Management from Johnson Graduate School of Management, Cornell University in 2021. She also holds her Bachelor of Engineering in Logistics Engineering from Tianjin University and her Master of Science in Management from Cornell University.
