Shuqi Li is an Assistant Professor of Management at the Leavey School of Business, Santa Clara University. Previously, she was on the faculty at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University. She received her Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management from Michigan State University, an M.A. in Social Psychology from The Ohio State University, and a B.S. in Psychology and B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Iowa.
Li’s research focuses on leadership, with an emphasis on the dynamic interactions between leaders and followers. She examines how emotions shape leadership processes and how communication influences leadership outcomes. Her work aims to enhance workplace experiences by deepening the understanding of both interpersonal dynamics and intrapersonal processes. Her research has been published in leading journals, such as the Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Business and Psychology, Human Relations, and Judgment and Decision Making.
At Santa Clara University, Li teaches the new first-year Foundations of Leadership seminar and is a key contributor to the Leavey PLUS initiative.
