Andy Tsay, professor and department chair of Operations Management and Information Systems, was quoted in an article from Quartz describing the influence that external factors aside from presidential office in the U.S. have on a company’s decision to settle in the States.

The article rejects Trump’s claim that he is solely responsible for Foxconn’s decision to open its LCD manufacturing factory in Wisconsin, and it explores further factors that would appeal and
encourage a company to make a concrete decision on location.

“The incumbents of whatever party is in office will always be happy to take credit on their watch,” said Andy Tsay, a professor at Santa Clara University who co-authored the report on the survey results. But the decisions don’t get made overnight, he said.
