John Conlon, MBA ’82, joins the panel of judges at the CFA Society Vermont’s first annual Local Research Challenge competition.

Alumnus John Conlon, MBA ’82, was one of four judges at the CFA Society Vermont’s first annual Local Research Challenge in Burlington on February 8. The global competition provides university students with hands-on mentoring and training in financial analysis as they analyze publicly traded companies.

John Conlon, CFA is Chief Investment Officer for People's United Bank. John directs the internal equity strategies, oversees the investment process, manages client accounts and leads and serves on various investment committees. Prior to joining People’s United Wealth Management in 2008, John worked in investment management at firms including Blackford Securities, EF Hutton, and CJ Lawrence. He has more than 30 years of experience in the investment industry. Prior to joining the investment industry, he worked as a research scientist at the NASA – Ames Research Center in California. John earned a BS in Aerospace Engineering from University of Notre Dame, an MS in Aerospace Engineering from University of Virginia, and an MBA from Santa Clara University. John is a past president of the CFA Society Vermont.
