Kirthi Kalyanam, director of the Retail Management Institute and JCPenney Research Professor, was featured on a Fox News story about Volkswagen’s deal to buy back all cars programmed to cheat on emissions tests.

“I think for consumers, it’s an unprecedented event.” Kirthi Kalyanam, director of the Retail Management Institute at Santa Clara University believes the company has no choce but to take drastic action. “If you lose your customer base, that’s a real problem. But if you can somehow make the customer whole and hold onto a part of the customer base, that’s progress for the company.”
