Meir Statman : Is the Next Recession On Its Way? : NextAvenue
Meir Statman, Glenn Klimek Professor of Finance, was quoted in an article about how the US economy is heading towards a recession and that no one knows when it will arrive.
“You really have to ask yourself about contingencies,” he says in the article. The author suggests “running scenarios to see what you would do if you lost your job or suffered a pay cut. For example, if you’re in your 60s, at what point might you file for Social Security to bring in income? In your 50s, how long could you go without a steady income?”
Either way, “You want to be prepared,” says Statman.
