Santa Clara University Now Offering Online Master of Science in Marketing Program

Santa Clara University recently launched its new Online Masters of Science in Marketing program that is going to offer classes from September 2019. It also emphasizes marketing technology to prepare contemporary professionals to manage effectively and ethically.

SANTA CLARA, Calif., April. 3, 2019—The Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University recently announced the launch of a new Online Master of Science in Marketing program, which will begin offering classes in September 2019. Drawing on Leavey’s strong ties to Silicon Valley, the Online MS in Marketing emphasizes the rapidly developing arena of marketing technology, or “MarTech,” to prepare contemporary professionals to manage effectively and ethically and set bold, data-driven strategies in the digital environment that defines marketing today.

“The new MS in Marketing is an exciting addition to our portfolio of online graduate business programs,” said Dean of the Leavey School of Business Caryn Beck-Dudley. “This program provides a unique, specialized counterpart to our thriving Online MBA for students who want to grow as business communicators and leaders and really dig into the powerful digital tools they
will use to succeed as marketers today and in the years to come.”

The Santa Clara University professorship’s expertise has garnered Leavey the #17 ranking nationally in graduate marketing education. The Online MS in Marketing program emphasizes essential business management skills; core marketing concepts like brand management, market analysis, product innovation and management excellence in today's competitive technology environment, customer needs assessment; and targeted expertise in the applications, tracking tools, and digital interfaces that comprise contemporary MarTech. Coursework for the program is taught by a combination of Leavey’s pedigreed marketing faculty and some of the leading marketing innovators in Silicon Valley, and it is grounded in an ethical approach to data collection and information security.

“There is an urgent, unmet need for marketing leaders who can utilize evolving tools and technologies to strategize and manage efficiently, ethically, and with impact across the digital marketing ecosystem,” said Yuchi Zhang, assistant professor of marketing and faculty director for the Online MS in Marketing. “This new program brings Leavey’s principled approach to
conducting business into the digital space where today’s marketing professionals work, empowering them with the technical knowledge and leadership skills to truly thrive there.”

The Online MS in Marketing program can be completed in as little as one year, with coursework distributed across four 10-week quarters. It kicks off with an introductory boot camp residency weekend on campus at Santa Clara University, and students can enroll to begin classes in either the fall or spring term annually. Courses consist of three required “business foundations” courses, a three-course marketing core, and nine elective courses. All course materials and engagement tools for the Online MS in Marketing are accessible on both desktop and mobile devices through the program’s intuitive, cognitive-science-backed learning management system.

“Everspring (An innovative program management partner) is thrilled to partner with the Leavey School of Business once again to produce this new online master’s program,” said Beth Hollenberg, president of Everspring. “There is no greater sign of a productive relationship than the opportunity for further innovation. The new Online MS in Marketing program exemplifies the
kind of dynamic, powerful online learning solution that is made possible through ongoing collaboration.”

Applications for admission are now being accepted for the September 2019 class start, with a final application deadline of August 30, 2019. Visit onlinemba.scu.edu/academics/marketing-masters for more information about the program.
