What are you doing this summer? This summer, I'm working as a Marketing & Communications Intern through the Miller Center for Global Impact, supporting Crafts with Meaning, a Certified B Corporation social enterprise that partners with local artisans in Kenya and Uganda to create sustainable economic opportunities. Some of my projects include redesigning the organization's website, improving its SEO, and developing a marketing strategy focused on social media, brand awareness, and digital storytelling to help expand its impact.

Hopefully you’ve grown both professionally and personally from this summer experience. Name one or two “life” lessons you learned and will carry forward after graduation.  One of the biggest lessons I've learned this summer is to trust myself more and be confident. I think it's easy to underestimate what you're capable of, but this internship has shown me that I'm more prepared than I often think. And when I don't know something, I've learned that being willing to ask questions and learn is just as valuable as already having the answer.

What has been the most memorable part of your experience? The most memorable part of my summer has been getting to know the other interns and the people I've had the opportunity to work alongside! It's been incredibly inspiring to learn about the different organizations they're supporting around the world and to see the meaningful social impact they're creating through their work.

What advice would you give to younger students who are searching for summer opportunities?
Try to find opportunities that genuinely excite you and organizations whose mission you connect with. And if you're not sure what you're looking for, that's completely okay because there's always people out there willing to connect with you and share why they're passionate about something. So reach out to people and always go into conversations with an open mind!
