Andre Collen ('21) receives CalCPA Award:  The Jerry Kasner Memorial Award is given annually to an outstanding accounting student at SCU selected by the Silicon Valley Chapter of the California Society of CPAs. The award is named for Professor Jerry Kasner, CPA and professor emeritus of law at Santa Clara University School of Law.

This year’s recipient is Andre Collen. Andrew is an A&IS major from Santa Cruz, California with a 3.99 GPA who enrolled at SCU because it was a beautiful campus relatively close to home. In addition to his scholastic work, he plays soccer as a midfielder for a club team in Santa Clara and is an avid reader and skateboarder.

In Summer 2019, Andre began a year-long internship at VMware (Palo Alto) on its Procure-to-Pay (P2P) team, while in Summer 2020, he interned at PwC.  In Fall 2021, Andre will begin working as a risk assurance associate at PwC in their San Jose office.  Congratulations Andre!

Keith Christine Agcaoili (’22) Receives PCAOB Scholarship:  The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) awarded a $10,000 scholarship to KC Agcaoili for the 2021-2022 academic year.  The PCAOB Scholarship is awarded through a nomination process, submitted by the Accounting Department, and is a merit based, geographically diverse program that recognizes academic dedication and achievements.

In July 2020, KC started as an audit intern at Accuity LLP analyzing the FASB guidance Revenue form Contracts with Customers (ASC 606) and is currently working with live clients as part of her continuing internship.  At SCU, KC is an active member of the ACE Leadership Program, the LEAD Scholars program, and the PCN Fundraising Co-Chair for the Multi-Cultural Center (Barkada).  Congratulations KC!
