"Classics has always been an interest of mine, one I began to pursue while taking Latin as my second language in middle and high school. Classics courses have always felt like a comforting break from engineering courses, and a chance to learn about the world from perspectives other than the scientific. I particularly enjoy the language courses, as they mix cultural discussions with the somewhat formulaic process of translation. After graduating, I plan to continue into graduate school in mechanical engineering."
