Janis is the Department Manager for the Department of Philosophy. She has been with Santa Clara University for 20 years. Janis is the recipient of the 2001-2002 Staff Recognition Award and the 2009 Nancy Keil Service Excellence Award in recognition of having established a well-deserved reputation for sustained excellence and initiative in providing technical or administrative support service, and for consistently approaching one's responsibilities with a professionalism that demonstrations dedication to the welfare of students and others and that leads by example. This award is awarded yearly by the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences to staff members on a highly competitive, school basis. She has served as the Chair of the Staff Affairs Committee and has also been a member of the Staff Senate Committee.
