Katherine Meyer '18 to Present Research at Political Science Conference in Chicago

Katherine Meyer (Class of 2018), Political Science and Religious Studies double major and French minor, will be traveling to the annual conference of the Midwest Political Science Association in Chicago to present her research on the relationship between outside ideological intervention in a state’s education system and the legitimacy of that state. Kat’s project evolved from her work as a summer research fellow for Professor Naomi Levy. Funded by a Department of Defense Minerva Grant, Professor Levy is studying post-conflict state building and peacekeeping in Laos, Uganda, and Cambodia. Building on this framework, Kat’s project evaluates ideological intervention in East and West German education after WWII and how the Soviet Union and the United States impacted the internal and external legitimacy of those states.
