An Update from Laura Clark '24

JVS, graduate school, and networking with other Religious Studies alumni

After graduating as a Religious Studies and Philosophy double major (and honors student), Laura Clark '24 spent a year with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Portland, ME, where she worked for the Immigrant Legal Advocacy Project, providing legal support to immigrants and refugees seeking humanitarian legal pathways in the U.S. In Portland, Laura got to know SCU alumna Stephanie Edwards '07 (Anthropology, Religious Studies), who serves as the spiritual director to the JVC community there. Laura is now in her first year in the Master of Philosophy program at Boston College (where she recently met up with fellow RS major José Wray '24 (Political Science, Religious Studies), who is at BC Law. Laura’s honors thesis was published in the UCLA Journal of Religion earlier this year.
