Congratulations to Laura Robinson!
This academic year, one of our most dedicated colleagues received an important promotion at our university: Professor Laura Robinson was promoted to Full Professor. Robinson has contributed significantly to our profession with her publications in the fields of digital sociology, digital inequality, and media in Brazil and France. In addition to her generous service as our new Department Chair, Professor Robinson is also Faculty Associate at the Harvard Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society and serves as the Series Co-Editor for Emerald Studies in Media & Communications and Palgrave Studies in Digital Inequalities. Her most recent publications include the following article with SCU alumna Aneka Khilnani “The COVID-19 pandemic: new concerns and connections between eHealth and digital inequalities” in the Journal of Information, Communication and Ethics in Society. A true teacher-scholar, this past year, she has also developed a new course for the department on social entrepreneurship. Our heartfelt congratulations to Professor Robinson. We value her dedication to our department and students and applaud her professional accomplishment.
