Susan Babbel Retiring at the end of July

Leaving her latest position as the Department of Sociology Senior Administrative Assistant

Susan Babbel, the Department of Sociology Senior Administrative Assistant, will retire at the end of July.  She will miss daily interactions with students and faculty, and the serene beauty of walking across campus to smell the roses.  She started in 1975, with time off to marry and raise her two daughters, and returned to work in 1999.   Four SCU Presidents, several stints of serving on the Staff Senate and Staff Affairs Committee, while earning her Masters Degree in Education, she has seen much change over the years.  Diversity has increased, staff are now allowed in The Adobe Lodge, and the campus has grown with many new building and street closures. Susan will continue painting in her studio at The Alameda Artworks and will enjoy time with her two daughters and four grandchildren.
