Policy 106 - Clery Act Notification

106. Clery Act Notification

Statement

Santa Clara University is providing this notice detailing our compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act).  The Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act amended the Clery Act by requiring institutions of higher education to compile statistics for incidents of dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking and to include policies, procedures and programs regarding these incidents in the institution’s annual security report.

This federal law requires the University to publish an Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASR) for our main campus in Santa Clara and the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley. The purpose of this report is to provide vital safety information, campus safety and security policies including those related to missing student notifications, alcohol and drug use, sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, and fire safety policies and statistics, for the last three years. In addition, the Santa Clara University Campus Community will be provided complete, accurate and timely information about crime and the safety of our campus environment. With this information, students, staff and faculty will be better equipped to make informed decisions to keep themselves safe.

The Annual Security & Fire Safety Report for SCU’s Main Campus is maintained on the Campus Safety Services webpage and the Clery Act Compliance webpage, https://university-operations.scu.edu/campus-safety/clery-act-compliance/. The Annual Security & Fire Safety Report for SCU’s Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley (“JST-SCU”) is available on the JST-SCU website and the Clery Act Compliance webpage. A hard copy of the report can be requested by contacting Campus Safety Services at (408) 554-4441 or clerycompliance@scu.edu.
