Share video to targeted audience

You can control who has access to your videos and when. You can make these changes at both the folder level and for each individual video.

  1. Hover over the desired video and click the Share button.


  2. Type in the person's SCU ID or Full Name if you know they have an active SCU Panopto account.  You can also type an Email Address for people who do not have an active SCU Panopto account, or are outside of SCU community.
    Enter a custom message if desired, then click Send.


  3. You will now see the person added to your access list.
    Repeat the steps to add as many people as you wish. 

  4. To remove a person: Click the X icon of that person, then click Save to committ to the change.


There may be times when you want to give a group of people access to a video instead of adding viewers' email one by one.

  1. Hover over the desired video and click the Share button.


  2. Under Who can acces sthis video, click Change.


  3. To determine who should have access to your file, we recommend selecting one of these three settings:

    • Specific people 
      only specific viewer you added to the list will be able to view your file
    • Anyone at your organization with the link
      video will be unlisted and not searchable; viewers with SCU affiliated status given this link will be able to open and view the content
    • Anyone with the link
      video will be unlisted and not searchable; any viewer given this link will be able to open and view the content

  4. Click the Copy Link button to copy the video URL and paste it into an email or post it on website. For further website customization, you may choose to copy the Embed link instead.

There are times when you want to change viewing access to the entire folder.  Maybe you need to add a TA to the creator list so they can assist you approve videos; Maybe you need to add another instructor so they can add and manage content.

  1. Navigate to the desired video folder, and click the Settings icon.


  2. Click the Share tab.


  3. Under the People and Groups section:
    Type in the person's SCU ID or Full Name if you know they have an active SCU Panopto account.  You can also type in Email Address for people who do not have an active SCU Panopto account, or are outside of SCU community.
    You can also adjust a person's access to creator (can upload video) or publisher (can approve pending videos). 
    Enter custom messages if desired, then click Send.


  4. You will now see the person added to your access list.
    Repeat the steps to add as many people as you wish. 

  5. You can also change the general folder permission to one of the followings:

  6. Select the desired setting to commit to the change.

  7. Click the Copy Link button to copy the video URL and paste it into an email or post it on website. For further website customization, you may choose to copy the Embed link instead.

Follow the instructions below if you'd ike to keep the recordings hidden from all the students in the class.

  1. Navigate to the desired video folder in Class Recordings or Panopto, and click the Settings icon


  2. Click the Share tab, then remove the viewer group from the access list by clicking the X icon.


  3. Hide the Class Recordings tab in your Camino course following these steps.
  4. You can follow the above "Share a video to an individual" section to add individual students back when you are ready to share the videos with them.

NOTE:
The Creator group represents the teacher(s) in your Camino course.
The Viewer group represents the students in your Camino course.

If you accidentally removed yourself (the createor group), please contact the Media Services for assistance.
