FERPA Release

The Orientation website is updated frequently so please refresh your web browser each time you visit a page within the website to make sure you are getting the most up-to-date information.

Information as of March 19, 2018

General Information

According to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), student information cannot be disclosed to any third party (including parents) without written consent. Students need to be aware of their rights under FERPA.

If a student would like the University to be able to discuss financial matters and student records with a third party (like parents), then the student needs to complete the FERPA release form. This release may be submitted at any time during the year by completing the form via your Ecampus account.

Deadline

For those students who do decide to sign the FERPA release form, many do so during their Orientation session. However, the release form may be signed at any time during the year. Many students also elect to not sign the form.
