Lazlo Pearlman is a creator, performer, director and teacher whose artistic work, research and teaching is inspired by his Queer, Jewish and Trans- identities. His performance and scholarly work entangles socio-political and philosophical ideas with absurdist, contemporary and physical theatres, performance art, cabaret, burlesque, vaudeville, camp/parody, clowning, film/video and conventional theatre. Lazlo holds a PhD in performance practice and philosophy from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Works include the visual art project Tamishey Mitzvah; He Was a Sailor, the Sea Was Inside Him and Madame Pierre’s Other Tongue for the stage; and the films Unhung Heroes and Fake Orgasm.
