Caryn L. Beck-Dudley is currently the dean of the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University.  At the Leavey School she has engaged the faculty, staff and alumni in implementing aggressive strategic initiatives, including adding a MS in Business Analytics, MS in MarTech (online) and totally revamping the MBA (adding an online degree option),  to focus more deeply on the Silicon Valley location and influence.  Prior to serving as dean at the Leavey School of Business, she was the dean of the College of Business at Florida State University where she held the post of dean for nine years. She developed a compelling strategic plan for the business college, expanded its entrepreneurship program, began an analytics programs, established novel programs for veterans, and led an ambitious fundraising campaign for a new building.  

Beck-Dudley also held roles as dean, department head, and professor of management and human resources in the College of Business at Utah State University. At Utah State University she chaired the Audit Council for the Utah State University Research Foundation, Health Benefits Committee, Academic Freedom and Tenure Committee and was Director of the Women and Gender Research Institute. She taught at the University of Georgia Terry College of Business while on sabbatical and the University of Michigan Ross School of Business while on leave. Before her academic career, she was an attorney in commercial and corporate law with Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy. 

A well-established scholar in employment law and the design of ethical organizations, her work is published in several journals including the Journal of Business Ethics, the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law, the Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, and the American Business Law Journal where she served on the editorial board. In addition to teaching business law, employment law and business ethics she has made many public presentations, to large and small audiences, on a variety of leadership and legal/ethical topics. She currently speaks frequently on higher education issues in particular disruption higher education and in business schools.

Beck-Dudley is the recipient of numerous honors including 100 Most Influential Women in Silicon Valley, Silicon Valley Business Journal (2018), the Alpha Chi Omega National Council Award of Achievement, Senior Distinguished Faculty Award, Academy of Legal Studies in Business, 25 Women You Need to Know, Tallahassee Democrat, Visionaries 30 Women to Watch, Utah Business, and the Kay Duffy Memorial Award, Academy of Legal Studies in Business.

Beck-Dudley has recently complete her term as Chair for the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), where she served two terms on the Board of Directors as well as on the executive committee. She is currently in Immediate Past Chair and chairs the Business Accreditation Policy Committee. She previously chaired the Maintenance of Accreditation Committee.

An active member of the business community Beck-Dudley served on the Leon County Economic Development Council, the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, the Knight Creative Communities Institute, and the Cache County Chamber of Commerce. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Kearney Center.

Dean Beck-Dudley graduated magna cum laude from Utah State University in political science. She received her J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law, where she was on the moot court team and the editorial board for the Idaho Law Review. She is also a member of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business, serving as past chair.
