AIN table talks

Although we had planned to hold the event virtually like the previous two years, Ryan Chew, the event moderator, suggested an in-person event would be more beneficial for students, especially coming out of the pandemic. As a result, professionals and students gathered in Locatelli Center to hear a panel discussion from an informative, insightful and diverse group of panelists, and also participate in small table discussions with professionals that shared a variety of experiences.  Student feedback indicated the event was very beneficial and many learned about “the importance of communication and collaboration in accounting, the misconceptions about accounting, and how it’s more than just the numbers.”  The panelists also shared insight as to how the audit and tax sectors differ yet both require effective communication skills and teamwork.
