Justin Ebner Endowed Accounting Scholarship

To honor Justin Ebner's memory, an accounting major who tragically passed away during his junior year at SCU, the Justin Ebner Endowed Accounting Scholarship has been established.

In November 2021 one of our accounting students, Justin Ebner, tragically passed away.

Justin, from San Jose, was a graduate of Bellarmine College Prep. He was a junior Accounting major with an internship lined up at a Big 4 accounting firm in San Francisco for the summer of 2022. Justin was a peer advisor for the Leavey School, a practice player for Santa Clara’s women’s volleyball team, and a member of Sigma Pi fraternity.

Justin was enrolled in two accounting classes in Fall 2021. He excelled in his classes and was always willing to spend his time tutoring others.  In ACTG 120, Justin was the only one out of a total of 150 students who got 100% on the first midterm exam. Professor Haoning Richter of ACTG 120 was very impressed by Justin’s creativity and thoughtfulness in his class presentation. Professor Kevin Li, his ACTG 130 professor, remembers Justin as a strong accounting student. Even though the class started quite early at 8:30 AM, Justin always came to the class full of energy. This was Justin, always positive, energetic, hardworking and cheerful.

In memory of Justin, the Justin Ebner Endowed Accounting Scholarship has been established to provide scholarship assistance for accounting majors who show a love of accounting and work to help and inspire others. Donations to the Justin Ebner Endowed Accounting Scholarship may be made here.
