SCU Proud: 2018 Accounting Alumni Award

David Price, Class of 1985, was awarded the SCU Accounting Alumnus of the Year award at the Accounting Scholarships and Awards Banquet held in May.

At the May 24, 2018 Accounting Scholarships and Awards Banquet, David Price, Class of 1985, received the SCU Accounting Alumnus of the Year award.

Dave is a senior partner in Ernst & Young’s West Region Technology Assurance practice and has spent his entire thirty-three year career in Silicon Valley serving private and publicly held high technology companies, ranging from fast growing pre-IPO entities to large Fortune 500 companies. He is one of EY's most versatile assurance partners serving clients spanning a broad range of high technology sectors, with deep experience in software, semiconductor, computers and peripherals and extending to e-commerce and media companies, as well as IPO, SOX 404, M&A and corporate structuring transactions.

Dave oversees the firm's relationship with Santa Clara University, including recruiting and development, and has been a member of SCU’s Accounting Department Advisory Board since 2012, chairing the board from 2013 to 2015.

In addition to helping SCU, Dave serves as treasurer and board member of the Santa Cruz Sunrise Rotary Club where he has been an active member since 2000, and is a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow. He is a former Executive Chair and current member and Finance Committee Chair of the Board of Directors of St. Francis High School, and Salesian College Preparatory, in Watsonville, California.

Dave and his wife Beth previously served on the inaugural Santa Clara University Parent and Family Leadership Council. Dave and Beth have lived in Santa Cruz County for 26 years, and have two grown daughters, Alexandria (Stanford ’14) and Lauren (SCU ‘17).
